The current status regarding the subsidization, regulation and ownership of urban bus transport in Latin America and the Caribbean

During 1988, the Transport and Communications Division of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean of the United Nations (ECLAC), carried out a survey of the institutional background of urban bus transport in the said Region. A simple and easily completed questionnaire was sent to agencies responsible for urban public transport in all member countries, and usable replies were received from 51 cities in 17 countries.
