Transit Systems in Texas

Lalita Sen
Atur Radhakrishna

Transit systems are directly affected by decisions made by the management and policy makers. The policy makers at the federal and especially at the local levels play key roles with respect to disbursement and collection of local and other sources of transit revenue. Using fifteen cities in Texas, the authors here analyzed the utility of the existing secondary data source, the section 15 report. It is intended that this research will provide policy makers with procedures for comparative analysis upon which to formulate transit policies at various levels of government.
